Background

I am a retired corporate lawyer. I specialized in mergers and acquisition transactions in the energy business. Now with time on my hands, I find myself reading and thinking about history, philosophy, Christianity, sports (especially baseball) and politics. I am lacking a place to park all of these thoughts; so I decided to start parking them in the cloud and among those few followers that I attract.

Other Roles

I am a husband, father of three adult children, grandfather to two grandchildren. I have done volunteer work; most of it has involved the interests of children: Catholic religious teacher, Boy Scouts, and a Houston organization called Child Advocates. Child Advocates is appointed the guardian ad litem for children in legal cases brought by Children's Protective Services that involve allegations of abuse or neglect.

Currently I am a volunteer with our Catholic parish's St. Vincent de Paul Society. We distribute alms given by our parishioners to the poor to pay rent and utilities, and we try to bring words of hope, encouragement and good news in our visits.
